About Nathania Gartman

Nathania Gartman was one of the founding members of WHEA, Western Humane Educators Association, APHE, and Best Friends Animals Society as well as a former APHE President. Not only was she committed to a time when there are no more homeless pets, she was also dedicated to transforming the way people, and especially children, think about animals. A nationally respected humane educator, she worked in communities around the country to teach respect, compassion, and empathy for all living things. The scholarship exists to assist humane educators from various backgrounds to attend the APHE National Humane Education Conference who would otherwise be unable to do so.
