Coffee and Connect - February 2026

This workshop is all about getting to know others – including four-legged friends– using a developmentally appropriate and gamified approach with young people! The complex concepts of consent, reciprocity, agency, and even umwelt will come to life for school-age learners. This active, hands-on session is packed with skits, games, props, puppets, and other interactive ways of both learning and teaching themes integral to humane education. Included are a mix of fun and replicable activities and demonstrations that guide participants on a journey from the first “hello” – whether to a new neighbor or a shy shelter cat – to building a foundation for bite-free, balanced, and deep connections with household animals – and those beyond.
