Talk the Tok: TikTok 101

With over 50 million daily active users in the United States alone and an average user session length of over 10 minutes, TikTok has quickly become one of the world's most engaging social media channels. TikTok is especially popular with Gen-Z, a demographic that may not be easily reached through more traditional methods like snail mail, e-blasts, and other platforms like Facebook. If you're totally unfamiliar with TikTok, this session will give you all the tools you'll need to start creating content and sharing your mission and message with a new, wider audience. If you're already a TikTok user, we'll share some tips and tricks to help you unleash your viral potential.

**  This workshop will be hosted on a Zoom meeting (separate from the conference webinar) to allow for increased engagement and participation.  There are only 100 spots available so register today!

Guest Speaker: Savanna New, Jacksonville Humane Society

A former French teacher, Savanna New transitioned to the humane education field in 2015 after discovering a passion for animal welfare while volunteering to walk dogs at her local shelter. As the Jacksonville Humane Society's (JHS) Education Manager, she oversees a wide variety of humane education programs that engage over 1,500 children in grades K-12 annually. A wearer of many hats, Savanna is also a part of the JHS Development team and assists with all external communications, including social media content creation. In late 2020, Savanna decided to put her pandemic-induced TikTok addiction to use and began focusing on leveraging the platform to promote JHS and the importance of pet adoption. In less than a year, she was able to increase the JHS TikTok following by more than 35,000 and build a brand new audience of supporters.
