APHE 2009 ANNUAL CONFERENCE The 2009 Annual Conference will be held on February 26 and 27, 2009, in Alexandria, VA, just outside of Washington, D.C. We are busily selecting our speakers from all of the wonderful choices we received and will be listing them soon. Once available, we will post a downloadable conference brochure. The group rate for the hotel is $159 per night and is available through January 26, 2009. Please make your reservations at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, VA by calling 1-800-445-8667. Each year, we offer the Nathania Gartman Memorial Scholarship to as many educators as we can to help them attend our conference. Last year alone, we were able to support 17 educators in coming to the conference in San Diego! However, we need the generous support of scholarship grants to do this. Conference Sponsors are also needed to produce a high quality event for a reasonable fee for you, the attendees. OCTOBER, 2008 APHE Midwest Regional Workshop At this workshop, you will learn to more effectively educate people about controversial topics with minimal confrontation, respond to situations in which audiences disagree (with the educator or each other) with compassion and respect, and dispel myths.
